KAIST International Students Scholarship 2024-2025

The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology offers the KAIST International Students Scholarship to students who wish to pursue first cycle undergraduate studies at the institute in South Korea. The scholarship is fully funded and covers tuition fees, living expenses, and National Health insurance. The program aims to select students who have the potential to become scientific talents that can contribute to the nation and society.

KAIST, a national research university located in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, South Korea, is the nation’s first research-oriented science and engineering institution. It provides quality education to international students from all around the world. An undergraduate degree program at KAIST lasts four years, which is equivalent to eight semesters.

Eligibility Criteria: 

To qualify for the KAIST scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants should possess a high school diploma.
  • Applicants holding Korean citizenship (dual citizenship) are not eligible to apply for the scholarship as foreign students.
  • International applicants MUST satisfy one of the following requirements:
    1. Neither of the applicant’s parents is a Korean citizen.
    2. For applicants of Korean origin, they must have received their entire elementary, junior high, and high school education outside of Korea at a comparable and equivalent level to that provided in Korea.
  • Students must maintain a GPA of 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST after their freshman year.
  • While the medium of instruction at KAIST is English, applicants do not need to have Korean language skills for admission. But, after getting admitted, they need to obtain TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) level 2 for graduation.
