MTN Scholarship 2024 Details
The MTN Scholarship Scheme has been a flagship program of the MTN Foundation since 2010. It is open to eligible undergraduate students studying in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. Launched in 2012, the scholarship is targeted at eligible 200 and 300 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
- Each year, 300 successful students receive scholarships worth N300,000.00 until graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.
- Additionally, 60 successful blind students receive scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually until graduation.
- Since 2020, the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME, as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the top 10 UTME scholarship. These candidates receive scholarships worth N300,000.00 from their 100 level through to graduation if they maintain the required grades.
MTN Scholarship 2024 Requirements
To be considered for the 2024 MTN Scholarship for Undergraduates, read and digest the information below:
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) are open to Nigerian students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions.
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students while the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300 level blind students. For blind students studying Law, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
- The application is also open to the top 10 JAMB candidates for 2023.
CGPA Requirements Include:
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- STEM students in Public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit).
- STEM students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
- Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
- Blind students in Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Blind students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 from the OND Program and must have secured admission into the HND Program.
MTN Scholarship Duration and Reward
Annually, at least 500 students receive Scholarships of N300,000.00 (Three hundred thousand Naira) each to cover tuition, book allowances, and living stipend for one academic year. In the project’s first phase, the MTNF Scholarship award was presented to 500 successful candidates in their second year of study in science & technology-related disciplines across 44 Federal & State-owned tertiary institutions.
