KAIST University Undergraduate Scholarship

Applications are now open for the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 for the Fall intake. KAIST offers a fully funded scholarship for international students, covering full tuition fees, monthly living expenses, and national health insurance.

The scholarship is open to applicants from all countries. Students currently enrolled at another university may also apply. TOPIK (Korean language proficiency) is not required at the time of application.
The academic year will begin in September/October 2026, and students graduating by August 2026 are eligible to apply through the Regular Track.

Scholarship Benefits

All selected students will receive the KAIST Full Scholarship, which includes:

  • Full Tuition Exemption for 8 semesters (4-year program)
  • Monthly Living Allowance: 350,000 KRW
  • National Health Insurance Coverage

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must hold foreign citizenship.
  • Neither parent may be a Korean citizen.
    • Applicants of Korean origin must have completed their entire elementary, middle, and high school education outside Korea.
  • Applicants holding Korean citizenship (including dual citizenship) are not eligible.
  • Applicants must apply for admission to KAIST; no separate scholarship application is required.
  • Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7/4.3 after their first year.

English Proficiency

Submitting English proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) is recommended but not mandatory. Applicants without a test score may still apply without disadvantage.

  5. Pay the application fee (80 USD or 80,000 KRW) via credit card or bank transfer.
  6. No separate scholarship application is needed—eligible students are automatically considered.
