JAMB Clarifies Institution Changes for UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided clarity on how often candidates who have taken the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can change their selected tertiary institutions. According to JAMB, candidates have the flexibility to change their choice of institutions as many times as needed, provided the admissions portal of the intended institution remains open.

JAMB Clarifies Frequency of Institution Changes for UTME Candidates

In an official statement shared via JAMB’s X handle (formerly Twitter) @JAMBHQ, the board responded to an inquiry from a UTME candidate regarding changes to their institution choice. JAMB stated, “You can change institutions as many times as possible, as long as the target school portal is still open for the admission process for the year.”

The clarification ensures that candidates are aware of the flexibility during the admissions process, as long as institutional portals remain active for admissions.
